Rumour Mill: China to Shut Down Factories en Masse

Given All Roads Lead to China's record on the past and how much it makes sense, I think this rumour is a no-brainer. Apparently China is getting ready to shut down large energy consuming and/or polluting firms in and near Shanghai, Tianjin, and Beijing. This can only help in improving their image during the Olympics as they have stated in the past, not to mention cooling their economy albeit in a somewhat heavy handed way. Fortunately, we're currently based in the south - but one can't help but worry about the unintended consequences that will result.
